28 September 2020

The World Rabies Day is celebrated annually to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating the horrifying disease. According to WHO, 28 September also marks the anniversary of Louis Pasteur's death, the French chemist and microbiologist, who developed the first rabies vaccine.

To observe this day, the livestock sector of Gasa Dzongkhag is organizing ‘vaccinating anti-rabies vaccine’ and free pet registration. Everyone is requested to visit the veterinary hospital or contact livestock personnel to get the dogs and cats get vaccinated. Please help the community to get the stray dogs apart from your pets to get vaccinated as well. Let us join hands to prevent and eliminate rabies together!!!
