March 30,2020:

Gasa Tshechu Notice

The annual four days Gasa Tshechu will be held from 31st March, 2020 corresponding to the auspicious 7th day of 2nd month of Bhutanese calendar. Based on the preventive measures announced for COVID-19, the Tsechu will be performed as a closed-door function unlike before. Only indoor sacred mask dances and recitation of prayers for the well-being of all the sentient beings will be performed by the monk body of the Gasa Dzongkhag and no other Boechhams or cultural dances would be performed. This is based on our in-house discussion and directives received from the Central Monk Body, Thimphu considering that the single most important thing we all can do as individuals is to look after our health and well being.

Most relevant persons will be involved for the function and however, the general public, civil servants and staff under regional offices are advised to stay home, keep loved ones and community safe and well. RBP will strictly monitor the spectators of the Tshechu as directed by Dzongkhag administration.

On more, we appreciate people residing in Gasa Dzongkhag could avoid social gathering, follow social distancing norms and continue to close shops/restaurants at 7 PM located in the District. Our deepest thanks go to you all for your understanding and showing interest and cooperation to protect our community.

Our humble request to everyone : Stay home, stay safe and protect community la.

P.S: The pictures served are what this beautiful spring brings to our Gasa
