March 8,2018, Gasa:
The International Women's Day is observed and celebrated at Gasa Dzongkhag. The special occasion is observed with the theme "Time is Now:Rural and Urban Activists transforming Women's Lives".International's Women's day has been observed since 1909 in the United States. The day is celebrated worldwide commemorating the political,social and economic achievements of the Women.To recognise, realize and notice the valuable contributions women make to societies. The Volunteers from Community Based Support System (CBSS),Gasa had celebrated and presented to the students of Gasa Primary School on the importance of celebrating the day and how the youth should be working towards making the gender equal society.

After that the RENEW team from Gasa celebrated the day with the staff from Dzongkhag .As a special gesture in support of the theme of the day, we the event was marked with Ms Kinga Wangmo, Land record Officer as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering with her views and experirnces on the theme of the day. This was followed by talk on the theme by 5 speakers. Another special gesture was the serving of refreshment was led by Dzongrab and male staff, which is usually done by female staff. The day was happily ended with a smile on everyone especially the female staffs by a photo session."
