Every year, on the fifth day of the fifth month in respect of the Bhutanese calendar, Monastic Body along with Dzongkhag Administration welcomes Goendrap, a local deity of Changyul, Punakha to Gasa. Corresponding to this auspicious day, Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Drangpon, Dasho Dzongrab and sector heads of the Dzongkhag Administration joined Dratshang in offering their prayers and respect.

Goendrap, a local deity, is believed to be residing in Punakha during the winter and Gasa was known as his summer dwelling. Goendrap, from the history, was supposed to bestow his blessings to those who do religious deeds.
