1 August 2017, Gasa:
Today at Hotel Ariya, Thimphu a follow up meeting took place between Gasa Organic Team and Hoteliers mainly to reinforce the signed MoU on supply and demand of 3 certified organic vegetables From Gasa. The meeting also deliberated on the 4 important objectives of this initiative, viz. 1) to create a success story on market driven agriculture production and marketing 2) to promote local agriculture production that will in due course of time displace the imported vegetables 3) as a platform for the hoteliers to engage in Corporate Nation Building Responsibility 4) to assist In realization of Gasa's goal of self reliance as part of Gasa's vision of Good to Great.
As expected, challenges in agri marketing is still as daunting as before, however today's meeting re-energized all the stakeholders specially the buyers ( hoteliers) to keep the MoU alive and kicking and conclude the season with an exemplary success story. Of course to achieve such objectives, some sacrifices from all stakeholders are necessary, which was committed by one and all. 
Out of initial 11 partner hotels, today's meeting confirmed that Taj Tashi, Terma Linca, Hotel Ariya, Fu Lu Shou Chinese restrauant, Hotel Pedling, Tashi Yoedling, Hotel Druk, Hotel Galingka will continue with the MoU to the end of the season, while Aman Kora, Bhutan Suites and Bhutan Hotel are out.
The main issue today is the mid-match between projected demand (finalized in February 2017) and actual demand( far less than the projected demand). 
However Gasa Dzongkhag with support from DAMC, MoAF is roping in other players like Chuniding Food,Tshejor , YBC and JDWNRH to divert the excess produce.
