10 March 2018

10th March 2018, Gasa:
Awareness/education programme on Royal Audit Authority (RAA):
A team from RRA led by the Auditor General convened a half day awareness/education session in Bjishong Central School. The session was attended by all teachers, class 10 to 12 students, Khamoed Gewog Gup, PM, JDNP and some staff from Dzongkhag including DT Thrizin, Dzongrab and Dzongda. It was very useful session for everyone. The highlight of the session was the participation of the students which is big step in acknowledging the importance of youth in Nation Building. Their participation clearly shows that the Nation not only values the future contribution of the youth but also their present contribution to the Nation Building. This is very important as we all know the magnitude of importance that is being placed on our youth from the Golden Throne.
Dzongkhag expressed special appreciation to RRA for showing the way to engage our youth.

Sacred Guru Ney of Tshechudrak:
Later in the afternoon, the team visited sacred ney of Tshechudrak. This ney lies at a walking distance of about 1 hour from the motor road head at about 45 kms from Punakha to Gasa. Most Bhutanese know about Goen Tshephu in Goenshari under Punakha Dzongkhag and very few would know about equally sacred Ney of Tshechudrak in Gasa.
Locally it is regarded as very scared and they hold annual tsehcus and rituals. Going by the local’s claim, Guru Rimpoche was first here at Tshechudrak from where he flew on tiger’s back to Goen Tshephu and revelaed Goenpo Tsepa Mey. These two neys are facing each other with an aerial distance of about 3 kms and ground distance of about 35 kms separated by Mochu river.
The reason for posting this information is to create more awareness so that more and more devotees can visit this sacred ney. Till date, the ney gets very few visitors. We would like to inform everyone that the ney is really sacred and has all great healing powers too. The locals share a story of a cancer patient who have been cured after staying there for three months.
Please contact anyone at Gasa Dzongkhag for any questions on the ney.
