Paddy Cultivation here has higher and chillier climate
For the first time in over a decade, Khatoed Gewog has successfully harvested paddy in its own land at Baychu, thanks to improved farming tools, electric fencing, and local entrepreneurship. Historically known for barley and buckwheat due to its high altitude, the Gewog is now exploring niche rice production with plans to expand cultivation to 5 acres.
