As the Nation enters its third phase of unlocking, Gasa leaves three memorable happenings to end the first lockdown today. All front line workers gathered at Control room to act in response to the Screening program initiated by Health Sector as mandated by the Ministry of Health. The front line workers were the ones who were profoundly involved in protecting people while putting efforts to respond the pandemic and they conjoined us for this screening happily in order to keep the society even safer. With this, the patrolling points at various locations in the Dzongkhag would be lifted from today except for Tashithang, the Point of Entry to Gasa. The representative of supreme Commander, Dasho commended all frontline workers for their unwavering services more so for the last 28 days in responding to Country’s Call in this trying time. “With our Buddha, walking along in flesh and bone, His Majesty must have foreseen the timely need of more volunteers and Gasa is exclusively blessed to have 135 Desuups in tackling the situation intelligently without which I can hardly think of hearing any success stories in the history of Gasa” remarked the Dasho. We celebrated contented day in unison and witnessed the DeSuups on duty who stayed away from their family going with homely feelings.
From 3:00PM to 4:25 PM, the Incident Commander shared his congratulatory notes for successfully completing the first ever lockdown to gups, GAOs,MangAps and all Desuups from all Gewogs through google meet. The video conferencing was aimed in sharing experiences and feedbacks from all front line workers of Gewogs. Dasho said that as we are enter normal life, this would be little different from our previous casual days. Though Government is implementing new ideas for easing the restrictions in the view of people’s happiness, Dasho urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travels unless deemed so-necessary. Every Gewog submitted that the lockdown was managed well and they said, “More than their reaction towards easing the movement restrictions, people are glad that Bhutan could manage to stay with this deadly virus in effective ways”. Among some of the feedbacks Gewogs shared, the network connectivity issue at Tashithang-the only Check Point seems to require the much needed attention. Dasho asked the Gewogs to have inner sittings for reprioritizing on the 12FYP indicators and submitted for further decision at headquarter. This is our firsthand experience on the lockdowns with numerous shortfalls but if ever we are challenged on with another lockdown, Gasa too will emerge even smarter and more coordinated with all feedbacks and experiences. Dasho reiterated on closely following the health protocols stringently by every person more than ever before that people now are having unlocking mood.
Thirdly, we had 45 samples tested for the virus amongst frontline workers and everyone tested negative. Gasa remained free of virus till now and we offer our heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty The King for always being there as a guiding light, Your Majesty la, we could tackle everything so efficiently because of your grace. We would like to thank the Government and all front line workers.
As we are moving out to resume the works, we assure to stay guided forever.
Stay Safe, Stay home!!
