July 7, 2019:

Goendrap, a local deity of Punakha is believed to be residing in Punakha during the summer and Gasa was known for his winter dwelling. According to Lopen Umzay of Gasa Dratshang, after the parting ceremony from Punakha Dzongkhag, it was believed that the holy being will stop at Nobri, Khailog and Choli for some nights and was believed to reach here at Gasa Dzong yesterday night. Goendrap, from the history, was supposed to bestow his blessings to those who does religious deeds.

 Every year, on the day 5 of the fifth month in respect of the Bhutanese calendar, Gasa Dzongkhag offers welcoming ritual ceremony. Corresponding to this auspicious day, Thrizin, Mangap and sector heads of the Dzongkhag Administration joined Dratshang in offering their prayers and respect.
