International Women’s day is a global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year in 2019, we celebrate International Women’s Day with the theme: “Think equal, Build Smart, innovate for change” and Gasa Dzongkhag joined the world to celebrate the womanhood. With tireless efforts of Royal Government of Bhutan, Women have come a long way yet gender-based violence against women and girls continue to remain a challenge. The CBSS volunteers of the Dzongkhag celebrated the day with the teachers and students of Gasa Primary school creating more awareness for gender equality, eliminating violence against women and how the day is marked an important occasion. The students got opportunity to listen to advice and inspiring stories by Dasho Dzongrab who graced the programme. 
Coinciding with the special occasion, Gasa Dzongkhag was very happy to receive Dasho Dorji Gyeltshen as Dzongrab in the Dzongkhag. We offer our heartfelt wishes and prayers for his endeavors. Tashi Delek la!!
