Good news on Gasa Road. Soon Gasa road will be all blacktopped.

Work on 16 km of black topping of Gasa road has started since last couple of weeks. This will black top the road from Shatem in Goengasari to Panikong in Gasa. The work will be completed by October 2017. Hi-tech company based in Punakha is carrying out the work.
Today a team comprising of Dzongda, DT Thrizin, Khamoed Gup, Dzongkhag DE met at site in Tashithang with the Chief Engineer of DoR lobeysa, EE and AE of DoR of Damji, Site Manager of Hi-tech and talked about mutual interest, expectation and responsibility. Basically the site visit and meeting was to convey to the contractor and DoR officials on Dzongkha's concern on the work and interest to monitor the work.
Going by this rate, we are confident that the whole Gasa road will be blacktopped by 2018 as committed by HPM during our 11FYP MTR held last March.
