27 days to the Royal Highlander Festival – 16 to 18 October 2016. Note the focus on the people (Highlander) in the title of the festival. As envisioned and desired by His Majesty, the festival will be celebrating the people living in the Highlands, and therefore the theme is “Highlander – the Pride of the Nation.”

Attractions at the festival:
Cross country race (open to all) from Gasa Road head to Laya ( it takes 9 hours at normal walking time); Display of Bja (traditional yak fur tents); Culture and traditional of Highlanders; Yak race, Horse Race and Strong man competition amongst 5 Chiwogs of Laya; Exhibition of various technologies and services; Home stay experience; Yak and horse riding.
Everyone is welcome specially for the cross country race.
